Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you take my insurance?
We do not take any insurance at this time. Your medications and lab tests that might be ordered could be covered by your insurance if you have them, and we are happy to do any prior authorizations if they're required for any services. Our services are paid at the time of services.
  • I paid for my visit but I didn't get the medication that I wanted. Can I get a refund?
We do not provide refunds for our services. If you saw a provider and received a clinical evaluation, then you received the service that you paid for. Our providers exercise their clinical judgment as to what medications are appropriate.
  • How do I know what program is right for me?
We have three primary programs for Hinds Family Care. Virtual Urgent Care If you have an urgent issue and just need to see a doctor about that one, one time issue, then this is the right program for you. We treat coughs, flus, respiratory infections, some rashes, some gastrointestinal illnesses and other urgent but not emergent plaints. This costs $39 per session. We cannot refill chronic medications through virtual urgent care. Virtual Primary Care For regular check ups, chronic illnesses and continuity of care, virtual primary care is the right option. You will meet with the same provider every time. They can run labs, send you for imaging or make referrals to other providers for issues that require specialist intervention. This costs $27 per month and $39 per visit. Metabolic Support We offer metabolic support for patients who are looking for wellness program or chronic disease management program. You can receive medications for weight loss through this program as well as devices for connected supervision. We work with insurers to identify coverage for branded medications, and our pharmacy partnerships help us identify lower cost alternatives for patients without coverage.
  • What’s the difference between your virtual primary care and virtual urgent care?
Virtual urgent care is available for one-time issues that are short and likely to resolve without additional visits. You will receive short-term medications for treatment of non-chronic issues, if appropriate. Virtual primary care is for establishing care with a provider who will become your doctor for the long-term. You can be treated for many chronic conditions, receive regular follow up, get regular labs and work with a full treatment team. Questions? Chat with us and we can answer them!
  • Can you give me a work note if I'm sick?
We can provide absense and return to work notes in many cases. Ask your provider during your visit.
  • Do you complete leave paperwork if I need time off of work?
We can, in many cases, complete leave paperwork for you if you need time off of work, but this is only for patients who are enrolled in the virtual primary care program. There is a charge for paperwork completion. Please ask your provider about this during your visit if you think you need paperwork completed. We do not complete paperwork for Social Security Disability or Workers Compensation.
  • Can my doctor order lab tests?
Yes. For patients enrolled in the virtual primary care program, your provider will order labs as necessary.
  • Can you prescribe medication?
Our providers are able to provide medications when they deem it appropriate, but they are not required to prescribe anything if it does not fit their clinical judgment. We do not, under any circumstances, prescribe controlled substances.
  • Can I use my HSA?
We are happy to provide an invoice for your services so they can be submitted for reimbursement. If you have a debit card from your insurance, you can use that to pay for your care.
  • Why do you charge $27 per month?
We charge a $27 monthly fee for our primary care program. This goes to the non-clinical services that we provide, including the administration team that is available daily to answer your messages, provide referrals, coordinate care with your providers and more. Our $27 fee allows us to charge much less for your physician visits, which are only $39.
  • Can I cancel the $27 per month?
Of course! That is up to you. If you cancel the monthly fee, however, you won't be able to sign up for patient visits, and you can't restart your membership for three months. Questions? Just ask in the chat below.
  • Is there a waiting period before my first visit?
You should be able to schedule your first visit within 24-48 hours during the week. If it's a weekend, the next available appointment is usually on Monday.
